stock up!..farmers market is a must

for more reasons than one!….try our favorite oneida farmers market finds in the gorgeous downtown Utica train station (open year round every Sat 9am-12pm outside during spring/summer; indoors in openly 50’ high ceilings of it’s glorious station every-other-Sat during winter http://www.oneidacountymarket.com/) and visit the quaint lovely liberal town of Clinton every Thursday in their town square during the warmer seasons https://clintonnychamber.org/farmers-market/

*our top finds: organic body & cleaning products “Utica Soap” https://www.uticasoap.com/ love Roseanne’s hempseed oil face cream that lasts forever, & keeps this irish thin skin forever young, her foaming hand soap and her not too bad bug spray you don’t mind dowsing your entire favorite cashmere sweater! *ask this dedicated teacher about her calculus class and lack of appropriate state funding!

veggie, cheese & meat lovers:

mark & katie have dug deep and created a flourishing csa to include their local organic farmers https://wormontwoolies.square.site/ *not only do they provide delicious meats such as my favorite tenderloin filet or stew lamb chunks, they also tap into “wild herbs & wild leafy greens” one might never have a chance to experience. yummy cheeses and a jalepeno jelly opened my culinary exploration!

stewart & hannah at Banks Farm have recently come together in 2017 and honed in on their natural philosophy to raising their livestock & agriculture *ask Hannah about her adopted baby pig whom she nursed back to life & raised as a house pet! Instagram: BANKSFARMNY

must also give shout outs to tasty slatecreekfarmny.com and to quarrybrookfarms.com

and don’t miss out on Jason’s flavorful organic fruit and veggie’s @ Kingfisherorganicfarm.com such a nice guy (musical daughters help too) 100% tasty products where the kale, lettuces, pea shoots, pears and apples taste like you remember as a child!

*one more farm stand along Rt 12 in Barneveld, NY “Gary’s non pesticide veggie stand where his onions and tomatoes are BEYOND THIS WORLD!!..(i said, “Gary! you need to advertise that it’s uncertified organic, no?!!..” he explained to me that no one around here uses pesticides since it’s too expensive…meanwhile his entire farm is powered off the grid as well…i have a lot to learn)

in the same parking lot near Gary’s is the big vintage barn called Foothills Mercantile https://www.yelp.com/biz/foothills-mercantile-barneveld *things fly outta there..i managed to score our hand coopered fireplace screen $75, a 1900 hanging stoneware pot $35, a retro lemon squeezer $7, an aluminum cake holder ($10) and a $40 etching of a rugged mountain man by a famous Alaskan artist (now sensibly above the cocktail cart)
